Jodie isn't just the Voice behind Different at School; she's a mom, an educator, and, like you, someone who believes deeply in the power of education.

In the spring of 2021, Jodie faced some of the same hurdles you face—navigating the unknowns of school for her daughter who looks different, searching for resources and craving community support.

When it was difficult to find, she decided to create a place where every student's individuality is celebrated and supported.

She understands the worries of a parent wondering if their child will be left out, stared at or bullied. Jodie has also spent 14 years in the classroom striving to reach every student.

Her personal experiences, both in her family and in the classroom, have shaped her into a fervent advocate for change in our school communities.

Driven by compassion, understanding, and steadfast commitment, Jodie’s mission is making school a positive and affirming experience for all.
